How to Add FB Messenger Plugin to Shopify Store

In this video, you will learn how to configure one of the Messenger plugins on your website in 2 different ways.


Messenger has a 75% open rate, and it will help you increase your sales.


The first way is going to be using Chatfuel and it will take you between 2-5 minutes.


And this is what it will look like on your site 👇.

 

Let's begin!

 

Go to the your GoBeyond template on Chatfuel, and head over to the Growth Tools and click on Customer Chat Plugin for your website.


Now copy and paste your URL here.

 


You want to copy the code that Facebook is making available via Chatfuel, it is on the third text box.


Next, you need to go to your Shopify store and click on the Online Store feature. Once you are in there, make sure you are in Themes and then under actions go to Edit Code. From all the files available, you want to select theme.liquid and this will be the only file you will touch.

 

 

Locate the <body> and then go down two lines and paste the code there. You can preview it just to make sure everything is working and then save it.


If you preview it again after being saved, you will be able to see the plugin working now, available to all users.

 

Congrats! You have done it. Let's take a look at the second way.

 


The second way to do it is by going on your Facebook page, what you need to do is replicate the process that Chatfuel automated for us:


1. Go to your Facebook Page
2. Go to Settings
3. Messenger Platform
4. Scroll down to Whitelisted Domains and save them
5. Scroll down to Customer Chat Plugin Set Up
6. Click Next


In here you will be able to edit the greeting message for your plugin and click on the save button.
